Featured Resorts Information

Panglao Island Nature Resort (Bohol Philippines) - We visited this island in August of 2006 and found it to be a wonderful place. The shore lines are decorated in white sand and although the coral reefs are not as well populated as some of the other islands, you will still find oceanic life is abundant. Our stay was for four days in which time we found the services of the resort to be extremely comfortable even with two children going along for the vacation. There are amenities for all ages, including massages, X-box / Playstation (for the kids), swimming pool, pool table, business center with internet access, restaurant and of course snorkeling and diving gear. You may also book dive charters from the resort as long as you are dive certified, or if not, sign up for a class. There are many tours that leave the resort that pass through the local area often stopping to give you time to photograph some of the local churches and monuments along the ride to one of Bohol's most visited tourist attractions. From the top of the lookout station located in Chocolate Hills, you can view the rest of the hills and surrounding area. We took a river cruise that offered buffet style Filipino foods and fruits. The scenery was marvelous going up the river and you also could catch a glimpse of the kids playing in the river. Some of these kids being true acrobats will even put on a display by swinging from a rope into the middle of the river and passing either underneath or beside the boat your riding. The boat is made of two pontoons with bamboo slats stretched across a steel frame. A small tug-like banca boat acts as the motor and gets the boat awkwardly down the river. After around forty-five minutes to an hour the boat returns to the shore where you departed and you are released back into society. Not far from this area you may also find one of the most interesting creatures you will ever see in your life. The Tarsier is one animal you will not find anywhere else, living in the wild, in the world but on this small island in the Philippines. The island has a lot to offer visitors, with some of the oldest churches and forts in the country. The locals are nice and very friendly to foreigners, often offering to help you with most of your needs for a small price. Beware of the salespeople selling jewelry and other items along the roadside. Always, negotiate the price before buying anything. Items that are claimed to be genuine should be inspected by those that know something about the items they are buying. Threat levels for most of the political groups and Islamic radical groups do not plaque the island as they do in other parts of the nation giving this place a feeling of safety. However, we always suggest you use the proper security and safety advisements from the country you are from as well as the local government. We only make statements about our visit and the praises, problems, or concerns we had during our visit. See pictures from our trip or book a room at the resort.
